Just tried adding a SATA drive to my ASUS K8S-MX system using -current
(as of August 13th) and got the following message (repeated twice before
the system hung up) during the boot:

  wd2(pciide1:0:0): timeout
    type: ata
    c_bcount: 512
    c_skip: 0

This is similar to the problem I had when I tried to install OpenBSD 3.7
amd64 except that time it was for "wd0" (an IDE drive) and I also got the
additional line:

    pciide0:0:0: bus-master DMA error: missing interrupt, status=0x21

That time I tried:
  boot -c
UKC> change wd
change (y/n) ? y
channel [-1] ? -1
flags [0] ? 0xff0
UKC> quit

and was able to install the system. This time it made no difference with
-current. Is there a solution to this problem (short of not using SATA
drives or replacing the motherboard)?

Joe

dmesg output (minus the SATA drive info since I can't boot with the SATA
drive attached) follows:
