While we're on the subject of IDE cables: * for the modern 80way cables the length limit is 45cm (18 inches) * avoid the 'round' cables * a single drive on a channel should be on the end connector, not the middle connector (guess who spent 3 days last month tracking down a problem related to a bad cable) -- ach
