Well, the devices are connected to the motherboard's ports on the back, which I think should be full power. NetBSD seemed to work fine for months on the same machine (although on very rare occasions, it disabled ports due to "device problems", but this happened on various machines with various USB devices, so I used to suspect a software problem).
