Of course it all stands and falls with the quality of the memory
allocator!  If that sucks your canary's chirp beeps like a mouse
in a huge arena!  So no - no randomness here.
And beside that it tends to get inscrutable when accessing the
bits, even if one uses unions to avoid casts.
