this is old and unmaintained upstream

upstream even is...

also these which are more promising:

sysutils/apcd - SmartUPS only, written by mglocker@
sysutils/apcupsd - actively maintained software for various APCs
sysutils/nut - actively maintained software for many UPS brands,
including support for shutting down over the network
