This message repeats for about 10 minutes, at which point the kernel gives up and I get a prompt.
This happens whenever I try to mount cd0[a,c] or 'disklabel cd0'.

I can't find anything relevant in the forums - the closest I got was a message about problems with hardware using the le device. The machine is an IBM xSeries 336 with a Xeon processor. I'm using the generic amd64 kernel. I can boot from cd.
Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
