Hi,

With em0 and em1, both cards auto-negotiate GigaBit full-duplex on Linux on the
same host. With OpenBSD, em0, the onboard network interface, only
auto-negotiates 100MBit full duplex. Man em tells me, there are some chipsets
that only make 100Mbit with OpenBSD, but this card is not in the list there,
well its also not in the list of supported devices at all. So it might just
miss the right support.

em1, negotiates also under OpenBSD gigabit, full-duplex, and on a Gigabit LAN
connection, I get reasonable transfer rates of about 60MB/s.

Now the thing I'm courious about, which is with regard to high-bandwidht, high
latency connections.

With em0, and SB_MAX tweaked to (2048*1024) see the other thread (network
tuning for high bandwith and high latency)
I get transfer rates on such a link of about 8MB/s.
Swiching to use em0, even with the SB_MAX tweaked, I get only get transfer
speeds of about 1.5MB/s, which is about the same speed with em0, without
tweaking SB_MAX.

The card seems to be fine, since it does get about 60MB/s. on a LAN, so I
wonder why I don't see the same or even better speeds with the high bandwidth
high latency connection.

Sebastian
