Were there ever 4.4 m68k packages? I can only find 4.3 packages for m68k on ftp sites.
Or, is it possible to cross compile for m68k arch on i386? Or if I can't compile 4.4 packages either cross compile, or on the SE/30 itself, I will downgrade the SE/30 to 4.3 The Quadra 700 I was using to do compiles, has finally died.
