I bought a very old laptop after mine gave up.
At first I got a dmesg entry opl not configured
After fixing BIOS to:
WSS I/O Address = 530H
SBPro I/O Address = 240H
Synthesizer I/O Address = 388H
WSS & SBPro & MPU401 IRQ Level
= IRQ7
WSS(Play) DMA = Channel 0
WSS(Rec.) & SBPro DMA = Channel 1

I get a normal dmesg.
But if I try to play any sound, I get a blah blah blah blah sound that
can only be stopped by a full shutdown (no processes running).
As root, I get no sound at all.
Any advice?
