Instead, you may want to look at npppd and using the L2TP variant natively available on your iPad. At least, that's how I have an iOS device connect (v5.1.1 currently, but worked for several earlier versions as well). The description in the source tree provides useful hints and required steps to getting this working. The L2TP traffic is secured through IPsec. I have not yet needed to provision iOS devices with this configuration, but I suspect it can be done similarly to how one would provision the (Cisco) IPsec VPN client on iOS. Regards, Rogier
