Agreed, but here's more:
1) User may run few dhclient instances (for different interfaces, needless to say), and wish to log some, while don't log other (too verbositive ones, which get low
lease time, for example);
2) Logging to stderr, for debugging purposes.
In final, i think it 'll not harm matching dhcpd's -f/-d flags.
