Hi all

The other day I got a Jetway JBC-373 for router/gateway purposes. The plan is to run several vlans on the internal interface. Traffic runs normal on the interface, but when I configure vlan interfaces on it I get nothing.

Yes, vlan and vlandev are set correct and the switchports are also tagged with the appropriate vlan(s). I checked re(4) for reference, and it claims "All re NICs support [...] VLAN tag insertion and stripping".

I googled the NICs (RTL8111EVL) and they do support vlan. However, I also found an old thread in misc that says "[...] use the Realtek RTL8111EVL, which doesn't appear to be OpenBSD-friendly".

The machine is running 5.3-stable, and I have not tried -current.

Has anyone successfully run vlan on the RTL8111EVL?

Mats
