perl are just as secure as anything else. as with anything else,
there are security conscious php/perl projects out there.
I promised myself that I would stay out of this thread, but this
comment bears scrutiny. While the gist of what you are trying to say
(it's the user, not the tool), you disregard the fact that PHP
*routinely* has security updates released for the core language. No
other mainstream language suffers from this malady.
