You can try these to see if they give any clues: - 'ifconfig pppoe0 debug' and watch dmesg - 'tcpdump -nvvs1500 -iem0' (where 'em0' is the parent device of pppoe) Have you made any changes to your machine (i.e. updated to a newer snapshot etc) in the time when pppoe(4) broke?
