the msg* api is cursed by it's SysV descend.
But as the OP never mentioned what his requiremenst are (guaranteed
delivery?, in-order?, duplicate avoidance?, hardware failure
resistance?, multi-platform?, authenticated src and dst?), any comment
is futile.
