I received a private message saying the problem was a bug in libc's resolver that make it fail if there are more than 16 addresses for a name.
hotmail recently added a 17th IP address to their servers. and that the bug has been fixed in OpenBSD 5.7. there is supposedly a back port to OpenBSD 5.5 http://cvsweb.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/src/lib/libc/asr/gethostnamadr_async.c.diff?r1=1.34&r2=1.35 I did not try the back port, since I intended to move to 5.7. which I did and messages again are going to Hotmail I don't know why the original sender just sent a private message. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Peter van Oord van der Vlies Sent: Saturday, May 23, 2015 1:44 PM To: Peter Fraser Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: hotmail rejecting messages relay=mx4.hotmail.com., dsn=5.1.2, stat=Host unknown (Unknown error: 275) > Op 23 mei 2015 om 17:54 heeft Peter Fraser <[email protected]> het volgende > geschreven: > > Any message sent to send mail seems to be rejected.
