Looking at the raid5 code, it looks like you get into this state if more than 2 chunks in the RAID5 volume fail. Are you sure all the disks are OK?
As far as I can tell yes, I don't see anything in dmesg, S.M.A.R.T isn't reporting any errors (but I've been told that means little). Anything in particular you think would be useful to test? .jh
