Men,
Thanks! How could I have overlook that one! I deserved to be called the
moron of the day big time!
That was really easy too!
Shame on me for this one!
Thanks for the cue!
Well, it's a fairly recent feature, and the full documentation is even
a bit newer. So it's likely it wasn't there last time you looked in
pkg_create(1).
Very generous of you Marc! (;>
Looking in the man page of the release version instead of the web man
page, the example sure wasn't there. The -f option was however on 3.8,
but not sure I would have understood to use it to do what I needed and I
am not sure it was possible before the additional feature as well as
explain from the web page however.
"pkg_create can also be invoked with only the packing-list from an in-
stalled package. It will recreate the corresponding binary package in
the current directory from the installation, or error out if any problem
is found. For example, the following will recreate a kdelibs-3.4.3.tgz
package:
pkg_create -f /var/db/pkg/kdelibs-3.4.3/+CONTENTS"
So, may be I am 1/2 a moron now! Truth to be told, I did look at the man
page, but not at the site and that's where I found it after the comment
from Tobias. I felt stupid when his comment even said example were
available and I didn't see it, then I look at the web version instead
and there it was! Lesson learn!
I have to say however that the recent feature addition was well time for
me and I thank you for that! Save me a lots of time and headache!
Couldn't be easier!
I have to say that the new packages management is getting very efficient
and fun to use as well!
