Yep, this is a known issue which has been reported before. I hope it will be fixed eventually but since setting a channel works around the problem and the channel stays fixed anyway while the AP is running (i.e. the AP won't switch to a different channel if the channel it picked becomes worse) this is not a high priority issue.
