2GHz channels are numbered 1 to 14. 5GHz channels are numbered 36, 40, 48, 50, 52, etc. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WLAN_channels 5GHz channels are usually a lot less crowded than 2GHz so performance is much better. Of course, your AP needs to support it, too.
