I figured out that it's easier to disable the documents app directly in the database than trying to get occ to work. A kind person sent me an e-mail off this list and pointed me in the right direction.
Anyway, if someone has the same problem, here is what I did: # psql owncloud owncloud owncloud=> update oc_appconfig set configvalue = 'no' where appid = 'documents' and configkey = 'enabled'; Thank you OpenBSD and misc@openbsd.org !
