st isn't spawning the shell as a login shell. Normal terminals have an X resource to tell it you want a login shell, but st doesn't believe in runtime-settable configuration options. Doesn't look like it can be passed directly via the SHELL environment variable either, looks like it just wants a filename without any command line option. You could do "st -e ksh -l" but that would be an annoying way to do it.. Maybe a wrapper script?
