I am trying to create a VM on 6.2-stable and running into intermittent text output on the console; it takes from 0.2 seconds to 180 seconds to output text segments. A segment is a few bytes to several lines of text. It times out and often enough to prevent autoinstall from succeeding, most of the time.

For example,

    Welcome to the OpenBSD/amd64 6.2 installation program.
    (I)nstall, (U)pgrade, (A)utoinstall or (S)hell?

takes two or three minutes to appear if I do nothing, but if I type space or backspace, I get, progressively with each keystroke:

    (I)nstall,
    (I)nstall, (U)pgra
    (I)nstall, (U)pgrade, (A)utoinstall or

and so on.


Here are the pings during (my nth) attempt: the long intervals are apparently when the VM gets cpu-cycles to run; the short ones are me typing space or backspace which seems to provoke more text output from the console.

As you can see ping intervals get bigger if I do nothing. (Autoinstall enables DHCP which is why I can ping the VM before OpenBSD is installed.) I'm using X and xterm to communicate with the VM serial console.

The VM command is

So, question: is this machine (dmesg below) supported, and would there be anything I could do to improve this?
