Hello al, Just bought a new server and wanted to see what the practicality would be of moving my disk from one box to the other. Its a stock 6.3 install, fully patched, with a few packages. The old processor is a VIA based CPU running generic i386 kernel. The new box is based on an Intel Celeron J1900 64-bit CPU.
My thought is it should move over and boot up on the stock generic i386 kernel, at which time I could update to 64-bit or just wait until 6.4 comes out and then update. Curious if you think this will work, or should I just do a clean install. TIA, Jay
