I installed OpenBSD onto sd0 thinking that I could go back later and use sd1, but I just found out that I have raid 1 installed and that is the reason that I can't access sd1. I do have two identical hard drives but only one shows up in the dmesg.

Have you really no clue how your system is configured? Did you just find it somewhere?

Anyway, I'm using a SATA Megaraid card, and I strongly suspect that your card supplies the same functionality.

Is there a way to disable the raid without losing the data?

Should be possible via reboot and entering the raid card's setup. First convert the RAID1to RAID0 and then configure a new RAID0 on the spare disk.

Are ami0 and sd0 the same thing? or am I writing to a peticular drive in an array?

man ami
man sd

Do I have to wait for Marco to help me with this?

Why?
