Hello misc@, I’m running refurbished Fujitsu Futro S720 (https://www.fujitsu.com/global/products/computing/pc/thin-clients/FUTRO-S720/ <https://www.fujitsu.com/global/products/computing/pc/thin-clients/FUTRO-S720/>) thin client upgraded to 4G of DDR3 RAM and 128G of mSATA storage.
I’ve tried to upgrade it with this dual port gigabit ethernet mPCIe card: https://www.ebay.de/itm/302188058801?epid=2126793990&hash=item465bcfd8b1:g:6ugAAOSwopRYbkn3 <https://www.ebay.de/itm/302188058801?epid=2126793990&hash=item465bcfd8b1:g:6ugAAOSwopRYbkn3> The onboard (re0) card works just fine in OpenBSD, had some hiccups in FreeBSD and had to use ( hw.re.msi_disable=“1” and hw.re.msix_disable=“1”) there. This trick didn’t work in FreeBSD 13 though for those re1 and re2. Both of the ports on the mPCIe card don’t work and just bringing the link up and issuing dhclient re1 or re2 gives me "watchdog timeout” on that NIC. In tcpdump, I can only see outgoing DHCP requests, but never any other network traffic, even when I’m just re-plugging the same cable from re0. “newest” revision I found mentioned in re manpage is 8168E/8111E , but RTL8168G/8111G works for me, while “E” and “F” don’t. Should these cards work? Are these cards supported? I could provide remote access or possibly grab another Futro and the card and ship it.
