I just wanted to add a second thank-you to all who helped ( thru this list ) !!!

in particular, after looking at the code in the link - and the
rationales (dont need duplicating-type code past the two versions
normally supported) - i have learned quite a bit...

i had/have already made enough fumbly-mistakes on my own during this
process (also) to teach me to triple-check everything - especially
when i am asking for help...

i normally only get the daily message-digests of misc, hence my delays
here...  and due to general paranoia of further PEBKAC, i have not yet
done the reinstall on my device - but i have confirmed that i now
"can" do the reinstall...  again, thx.  :-)
