IT WORKS NOW! The problem was one or more of the following:
--The hardware has problems communicating with certain [half-duplex] 10Base-T devices. --The driver has issues with [half-duplex] 10-BaseT devices. --My half-duplex 10BaseT hub is bad. Has anyone here used--especially on an Asus NForce4-based motherboard--the nfe(4) driver to communicate with a half-duplex 10BaseT device? When I tried to use it with my half-duplex 10BT hub, only the orange/amber solid link light (don't know if this is normal or not) would stay on. Plugged into a 100BaseT hub, both lights are on, and the other light blinks with activity (oh, rapture!). I do not have any other 10BaseT devices, so I cannot diagnose this problem further.
