Why a game written by a guy almost forty years ago should be used to
evaluate the attitude of a whole project is beyond my comprehension
(from the manual):
I wrote Battlestar in 1979 in order to experiment with the niceties of
the C Language. Most interesting things that happen in the game are
hardwired into the code, so don't send me any hate mail about it!
Instead, enjoy art for art's sake!
With this closed mentality you should ban any horror movie, game and novel.
I have a lot more to say about this habit to see everything through the
lens of the political correctness, but here it is not the right place.
Bye, Pietro.

Help me (and anyone else) understand something about the attitudes and

Please, just tell me why this even here.
Looking in source files for "battlestar" in the default install sets,
(src/games/battlestar/command*) function names and strings clearly show
that rape and murder are deliberate features of the game; and it really
delights in describing horrible things you do to people. (E.g.,
functions "ravage" (clearly, "sadistic violence") and "murder", among
other things.)
Basically, the player's meant to be a psychopathic killerĀ and rapist.
