Yes, it depends on the codecs being used. Got a lot of weird problems as
well.
Having had a hacked PBX once, which was trying to make international calls, i
really hesitate to put it into the wild unprotected.
Some kids will keep trying to brute force your credentials forever - and
sell the stolen credentials to call centers in India. Rate-limit them,
or geoblock them. It was my solution. And can be done in the bridge or
in the PBX itself. Even with the PBX server itself having a public IP
address.
