OpenBSD has no ACL and Extended Attribute support in the kernel vfs layers.
Until that is added, it’s unlikely that AD support will ever come back. There
are other issues but that is a show stopper. The ACL VFS plugin is broken and
it seems that OpenBSD’s `unname -a` doesn’t contain the word “linux” so the
samba devs are reluctant to do anything about it.
GSOC would need an OpenBSD kernel dev to supervise to add missing VFS pieces,
on that one I am not and would need to work with the samba devs all of who
ignore that bugs I have added to their bug tracker over the years. Other people
have had more success in getting samba devs to fix things.
I anyone is going to reenable support and try it out, i’d also suggest
renenabling the port AD FLAVOR for it as well.
