anything you plug in to a USB port can encounter serious security issues tbh. fake keypresses, etc. run it on a private network with no internet (e.g. ethernet from your laptop) and I don't think it's worse (and I'd argue possibly much better) than something you plug into USB on the "client" machine. what's special about China?
