Hello Jan,

Yeah, I've had no problems using the OnePlus's Android hotspot option
to connect the OpenBSD laptop for Internet access, but this is mainly
to mount the PinePhone (or any phone) as a network device, since the
PinePhone ideally needs this connection in order to update
postmarketOS properly (not ideal, I know, but doing it from the
installed OS on the PinePhone has left me without an interface to
access during major upgrades). Fedora Linux does detect both when
plugged in, and on there, the PinePhone does cause a network device to
show up when "ip addr" is called, albeit with a nonsensical name as
opposed to something sensible like "urndis0". I can only assume that
if the option to expose it were disabled, Fedora wouldn't have
detected it either.

Unfortunately, these are the only phones I personally own that I can
test with. The only other option would be to test with a stock 7.8
installation and see if it just happens to be an issue with -current.
I'll check and report back.

Thanks,

-Claudio
