Oh that's classic. Wait until 20 messages deep in the thread before even mentioning the actual problem. None of the knobs you are twiddling have any bearing on that. If you're getting SERVFAIL then more info from logs might give a clue, set "log-servfail: yes" (and you have verbosity 3 already) and show logs from when it happens.
