You haven't even mentioned which version of OpenBSD you are using.

In recent messages to the list you mentioned using OpenBSD 7.7-release.

Then there was a short message vaguely suggesting that you were trying to
update the system.

We have no idea whether you are actually running 7.7 or 7.8.

We have no idea whether this touchpad bug was introduced between those two
releases.

Does the touchpad work at all, at least with limited functionality if you
remove xorg.conf altogether?

If it was previously working with 7.7-release and is now broken with
7.8-release, were you using this same xorg.conf in the previous version?
