While I agree with the purpose of Xlibre and fully support it (minus the IMHO completely unnecessary political language in its README), the situation is not as simple. OpenBSD developers already maintain their own fork of X, Xenocara, for years. It would be unrealistic to think they would simply abandon it. Speaking as someone not familiar with the internals of both, at best there might be cooperation to adapt Xenocara to Xlibre instead of X.Org, sometime in the future (perhaps once X.Org is truly officially abandoned for good?).
