I have seen this on my X13gen6 amd laptop. The trackpoint sends a 0xAA 0x00 reset every 5 seconds. This puts the state machine out of whack and the pointer really starts to jump around. I'm surprised that a T420 shows this. For my laptop the fact that the event happens every 5sec is a clear indication that this is not a bad connection. Something else is going on. -- :wq Claudio
