Is there a way to make sndiod/mixerctl/etc. duplicate the audio to
another device without Firefox having to get involved? The idea would
be to have Firefox see only the Razer microphone, use it for both
playback and recording, and then have sndiod send all of the playback to
the SMSL device.

I know that sndiod can have devices that are set to monitoring mode,
but I haven't been able to put all of the pieces together (assuming
that they can be).
