Sorry for making my question confusing and yet thanks for the answers. I have understood that I have to read the code sysctl on machdep.lidaction for figure the ACPI action. Thank you for the added hint of 'acpi _LID method'.

I know my question felt focus on acpi, but my main intention was on this problem. I would like to indulge further here if you do not mind. I have a display timeout set to some 20 seconds for the display to time out for saving power, but any audio-playing application (e.g. mpv, cmus etc) pauses the audio for a second, it is not 'stop'ing I'm sorry for my words to have that kind of meaning in my post. To put simply, as the display turns off, the audio that plays pauses for a second and keeps on going, this does not happen when the screen comes back on when I wake it. For what it is worth, I will check if I can replicate this on Linux just to be sure that this isn't a hardware problem I have here.
