I've worked for three different f500 corporations which used software
from the BSD projects.

One was making thermostats for commercial buildings (like orphanages and
hospitals.)
One was maintaining the infrastructure you used to send your message.
And the most recent one likely manufactured the equipment used to send
your message.

As far as I'm aware my current employer also does not steal money from
widows and orphans.
