Hi,

I did give another try in using xfce4-pulseaudio and pulseaudio on OpenBSD/amd64 8.0-current and I still encounter synchronization issues.

- I run `sndioctl -m` to verify if commands reach sndiod. sndiod runs with its default configuration.

- I use both sndioctl and cmixer to change and look at current values. Both are in sync.

- Using pavucontrol to change volume, it works: sndiod receives the change requests and cmixer/sndioctl report the new values.

- Using cmixer/sndioctl to change volume, desynchronization happens. sndiod receives the change requests, cmixer and sndioctl report the changes but pavucontrol (and pactl get-sink-volume sndio-sink) are left unchanged and display older values.

- Also, when using the mute button in pavucontrol, sndiod does not receive the change request at all and the volume is not muted. When using cmixer/sndioctl, that works properly as expected.

Is this expected given the current state of sndio/pulseaudio integration or am I missing some specific configuration?

Thanks,
Joel C.
