**SOLVED** ( I think) First I killed ntpd, then did ntpd -s north-america.pool.ntp.org and got: set local clock to Tue Apr 18 13:28:59 EST 2006 (offset -3558.915779s)
Except I want DST, so that it should show 2 PM. I can't figure out how to set this.
