I think FPGA's are about to hit mainstream. Take a look at the CELL processor (and PS3). That processor is f'ing sweet, and you can already buy IBM servers with it in there. Basically, it's a Power5 based CPU that controls 8 FPGA's, and is extremely fast, 4.0GHz is about 256GFLOPS. Jason
