How do I increase my available filehandles? I tried sysctl kern.maxfiles=32768 but it doesn't seem to help.
The reason that i think I need to increase my filehandles is because I'm averaging about 1200 simutaneos users on a website that I'm hosting and the mysql database keeps crashing with (errno: 9) saying it can't find files that I know are there. As soon as I do a pkill -HUP httpd and a mysql.serverrestart everything works for a bit more until we get another traffic surge. fstat | wc -l usually returns about 6000 lines. Am I crazy?
