My firewall is a firewall, provides packet level blocking/allow, ftpproxy, and nothing else. Adding other services can make it more vulnerable, either by software problems or configuration problems.

The mail server that gets mail via my MX records sits in my DMZ. On it I use spamd, postfix, clamsmtpd, and clamd. To be added back at some point is dspam. Once a message gets through all that then it is relayed to my internal mail system.
