Thinking about it more, isn't it carp over trunk over vlan over nic? I'm gonna give it a shot here in the next day or so.

I agree about the security issue. The alternative is to have 4 switches (for a redundant setup). Since we currently only have 4 (cheap) servers in the rack, its a tough sell to suggest that we need as many switches as servers, for simple Internet access.

I am going to work on whether its even possible, then review that document (thanks for the link BTW) before making any final decisions.
