works just great. Their current boxes are VIA C3(tm)/ VIA Eden(tm) 1.0ghz

I wouldn't recommend a soekris then. It will work for now, but it may
not scale well.
I recommend one of the new VIA EPIA CN-series boards.
They are based on the new C7 chips which have AES engine on board...big
plus for VPNs.
I just bought a EPIA-CN13000.
I have an EPIA-EN1500 and I have no acceleration for IPSEC at all (I
started a thread about this when I first got it), thus be warned that
you shouldn't expect anything from the in-cpu stuff.
