Setting tty to com0 in /etc/boot.conf should be all you need. But there may be issues on your machine that prevent this from working the way it should. Check that at least your serial cable is known good. On a similar system, try to get a getty(8) going on tty00 and log in over that. If that works, go back to figuring out the redirection on boot. | My questions: | 1. Am I right, is this finally supposed to work ? This should work, although you don't need /etc/ttys-changes for the installer (as that runs on console and doesn't look at the ttys file) | 2. Does anyone have a cd40.iso for amd64 readily available ? Not yet, maybe next week .. try http://www.weirdnet.nl/openbsd/serial | (3. Does it make sense to add this to standard `machine` release ?) I don't think so, but I may not completely understand the question ;) Cheers, Paul 'WEiRD' de Weerd -- >++++++++[<++++++++++>-]<+++++++.>+++[<------>-]<.>+++[<+ +++++++++++>-]<.>++[<------------>-]<+.--------------.[-] http://www.weirdnet.nl/ [demime 1.01d removed an attachment of type application/pgp-signature]
