Not impossible, istr seeing some recent-ish low-cost server (may have been fujitsu-siemens) with very minimal monitoring. I'd check the bios to see if anything's reported there though, it would be a bit of a surprise if at least cpu temperature wasn't available. (on a related note, I found datasheets for pc87427 if anyone's interested, temp/fan/watchdog used mainly by intel/supermicro afaik)
