Hi misc@ There is probably some history here that I am unaware of, but at first glance there seems to be an error with the mbox(3) man page:
FILES
/var/spool/mail/$LOGNAME
$LOGNAME's incoming mail folder.
Should that not be, as per hier(7):
/var/mail/$LOGNAME
